Coach Johnson
When it comes to elite-level throws coaching, Coach Erik Johnson has proven himself as an elite coach at all levels. Since 2013, his athletes have racked up hundreds of championship titles and thousands of medals at league, district, state, regional, and national competitions around the world — from Junior Olympics to the professional ranks.
Based in Arizona, Coach Johnson has developed multiple 70-foot shot putters, a deep roster of 50- and 60-foot throwers, and 180-, 190-, and 200+ foot discus throwers. Among them is Arizona State Champion Tyson Jones, who shattered a 60-year-old state record with a massive throw of 71’8¾”, while also achieving elite discus marks. This consistent success reflects not just individual talent, but a repeatable system built for long-term development.
Driven to address the shortage of quality coaching at the youth and high school levels, Coach Johnson created the Throwing Chain Reaction® (TCR) System in 2011 with a mission to help throwers and coaches worldwide transform their training and competitive potential. Today, 11,471+ athletes and coaches across the U.S. and internationally have trained under the TCR System, establishing Coach Johnson as the go-to resource for anyone serious about taking their throws to the next level.
